Between games
Building software again
An itch, and not a new one. At sixteen, before and during the first games, I was already building websites and small web products alongside them. Anything I could think up, really. Making software between game projects has always been the pattern, and this is the current round of it.
So I’m giving it a proper run for a while. Fieldkeep is the one furthest along, and MyBabyStages.com, and BabyFases.nl in Dutch, is a small finished one that came straight out of my own life. There's a page about the company behind them if you got here from either.
It’s the same work underneath. Multiplayer, backends, servers, databases. Getting separate services to talk to each other and stay up, cheaply and without ceremony. That’s been the part I’m good at since the very first game server, and it carries over to apps neatly enough. A game is still the more fun thing to build on top of it.
